Big five Safaris in Zululand

Hluhluwe - Imfolozi Park

Visit the world famous Hluhluwe - Imfolozi Park only 30kms away on a tar road. This game reserve , being over a 100years old , is the oldest declared game reserve in Africa. It is renowned for its successful program to save the once endangered White Rhino and is now in the forefront of the program to save the now endangered Black Rhino.

Leaving early in the morning from the uMuzi Bushcamp, travel to Cengeni Gate, the western entry to the Imfolozi Game Reserve. Our staff will pack a breakfast for you to enjoy on the banks of the White Imfolozi River right next to the Wilderness Area. After breakfast, spend the morning searching for the elusive Big Five, the leopard being the difficult one to spot. Stop for a lunch provided by us on the banks of the Black Imfolozi River and return via Cengeni Gate to the uMuzi Bushcamp in time for dinner.

Variations to this safari, such as short walks and a visit to the Game Capture pens at Centenary Gate can be arranged.

Visits to the Park may be self guided in your own vehicle or should you prefer we can provide a vehicle and guide
